Enabling Balanced Growth

Whether you grew up here or you’re new in town, one thing we can all agree on is that we love the close-knit community that makes Riverview stand out. In the past few years, we have welcomed new neighbours, businesses, and infrastructure while keeping the vibrant sense of community that brings us together.

If re-elected, I will support:

  • continuing to promote Riverview as a welcoming community;
  • investing in infrastructure such as streets, sidewalks, active trails and parks to keep pace with growth in the town;
  • supporting sustainable Green initiatives to keep Riverview safe, healthy and environmentally friendly;
  • ensuring Riverview has the right type of growth to meet the changing needs of residents from young families to seniors who may be looking to downsize in retirement.

Work to date:

Over the past five years, we have maintained responsible growth while ensuring Riverview remains the community we love by:

  • lowering the tax rate for Riverview residents by 21 cents for every $100 of a home’s assessed value by supporting moderate residential and commercial growth;
  • investing in the growth of Mill Creek Nature Park including additional trails and the Mill Creek Naturalized Stormwater Pond;
  • securing provincial and federal funding for the Riverview Recreation Complex, set to be completed in Fall 2026;
  • adopting a new municipal plan which lays out a managed growth plan for the next 10 years;
  • improving public transit and adopting a public transit master plan;
  • established policy to allow non-profit, affordable housing projects and grants to support residents who wish to add an in-law or garden suite to their properties;
  • approved a hotel market study that establishes a business case for a mid-scale hotel in town;
  • implemented an economic development strategy with 60+ initiatives to unlock business development potential.
