If re-elected, I will support:
- continuing to raise the voice of Riverview’s residents in advocating to the provincial and federal government on critical issues like health care, justice reform, education, and social issues;
- working with our partners on regional issues like transportation, tourism, economic development, community and social development.
- exploring new ways of engaging with residents to gather feedback on town activities and plans including virtual Q&As, social media engagement, and community events.
Work to date:
I have enjoyed engaging residents, partners, other municipalities and my fellow council members to move Riverview forward. Some of the ways I have supported transparent, proactive communications include:
- creating a health-care advocacy committee made up of residents to advocate for a collaborative care clinic in Riverview to increase residents’ access to primary care;
- providing timely meeting summaries to keep residents informed on the work of Council after each meeting;
- collaborating through the Southeast Regional Service Commission, where I serve as vice-chair, on newly imposed mandates like regional transportation, tourism, economic development, community & social development;
- representing Riverview on the Urban Municipal Caucus of the Union of Municipalities;
- meeting with our federal and provincial representatives to share resident priorities and ensure strong collaboration among all levels of government.
