Meet Andrew

Andrew LeBlanc is serving his first term as Mayor after being elected to the position in May 2021. He was first elected as Councillor-at-Large in May 2012 and again in 2016 and was elected Deputy Mayor in May 2020. His years of work in the nonprofit sector with youth and families and his desire to help create a sound strategy for long-term growth are what motivated him to run for public office.
In addition to serving the community on Council, Andrew is Executive Director of Atlantic Wellness. He is passionate about building a safe and inclusive community where residents of all generations, cultures and backgrounds can feel welcome, involved and at home.
Andrew is also a strong advocate for sustainable growth and the Town's arts, culture and recreational programming as these services play an important role in the quality of life that residents have in Riverview. A long-time community leader, he is the recipient of the Kim Halliday Asset Builders Award from the United Way for his community work and in 2019 was awarded the Top-20-Under-40 Award from the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Moncton and the Hub City Young Professionals Network. In 2022, Andrew was pleased to receive the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Award from New Brunswick Lieutenant Governor Brenda Murphy for his significant contribution to public service. In 2025, Andrew was recognized by the Governor General herself as one of her 100 recipients of the Kings Charles III Coronation Medal in recognition of his dedicated commitment to mental health and wellness through his strategic leadership and passion in building mental health accessibility for youth.
Andrew has lived in Riverview for more than 30 years and is a proud husband to Patricia and Dad to Amelia. Music is also a favourite pastime and Andrew plays with the local acoustic trio The AJs.
